You turned on the heat, didn't you? 
What do you expect from a lab? My lab mix, Boots, sheds constantly. I can't even get the damn Furminator to go through his coat one time! I can say the same thing about him that I used to say about my Carrie (lab/Chow) - if I brushed him 12 hours a day he'd still shed! Sometimes he looks like a molting bird because he's shedding so much it's coming out in clumps.
