That is 4-5 hours away. I know about that and the trails in southern maryland and winchester, va. i figured that since there are alot of woods here than there should be some place around.

most landowners don't want them on their property around here.

We use a couple of places out here, but they are all private property and the owners aren't too keen on allowing unknown users on their property. Insurance is the main reason. We checked on buying a large parcel to open for 4 wheeling but the insurance costs were outrageous...

That's a good point and I can certainly respect that - My brothers and I have looked into to buying some property to "play" on. But of course that would be a few hours away since the price per acre around here is around 100,000 - No complaints though, i need the equity in my house to keep growing.

I saw somebody riding some trails down by National Coach adjacent to I-95 south of Massaponax. I don't know anything other than that though

Don't try the BUS location parallel to 95 near Massaponax. Police will impound your bike. They used to let people use it... but of course that changed. I took my boys there over the summer and wondering why we were the only ones around, we did not stay too long! I spoke to a deputy friend later and asked about it and this info is what he told me. Be aware. This place, http://www.thelandingmx.com/ is just across the Bay Bridge and fun! A nice day trip that is worth it!

The trail search and rescue group I belong to is sponsering a ride on april 16th, 2005. We will try and provide volunteers to go through the trails at Gore VA. Only a few hours away from here. The next day April 17, 2005 a race in sponsored by nvtr. You can look on thier web sight under www.nvtr.org. Proper equipment is a must. You do have to have spark arrestors on you ride. Camping is available on both these days. I believe the fee will be $20 on the 16th but I am not for sure because the Cove decides what the fee will be. I cant imagine it will be much more than this. That was the fee last year. Camping is extra. At anyrate this is a great place to ride and closer than hatfielf mccoy. If you look up "quads on the rocks" under your search engine it should bring up the last two years and a phone number to the "Cove" and you can get further info on pricing and camping. I believe to race you have to be a member of AMA and that you will have to take up with them. On the 16th no race is scheduled and anyone can ride.

If anyone is intersted then let me know and I will get with the president of my group and get back to you. From here I dont think it takes more than two hours to get to Gore but dont quote me on it.

Indian acres allows dirt bike riding (as long as it is light outside)
Depending on the bike too.
Lots run as follow- from free to what ever depending on the lot
Some owners give them away ....all you have to do is pay the dues.

Dues yearly are around 750.000 dollars (To much if you ask me for a camp)
also has fishing ,hiking ,and three pools, restaurant ,teen center
and social club (Bar) snack shack......

Indian Acres of Thornburg
Check out lots at the office after calling for permission.
