Best place for a VA state inspection
      #1245982 - 02/01/08 08:51 PM (151.207.246.4)

Been going to a garage in Alexandria near where I work. Turns out that as of the new year, it's $10 more in northern VA for a state inspection ($26 vs. $16). Plus, starting next week I'm working from home.

So any recommendations for garages/shops that are no-BS and won't fail me for having blinkerfluid leaking? I prefer patronize honest shops of integrity, who doesn't right?

Years ago I had a shop threaten to call the state police (not just the county police, the guys/gals in black!) because I refused to let them work on my alleged defective brakes. A year later that shop was closed down, from too many complaints from what I later heard.

Thanks all.

Pattons' Automotive downtown across from the train station off Kenmore Ave is about as honest as they come.

If there's an issue and you have time to run and find a replacement part, he'll put it on (with labor) and you'll pass inspection.

Pulliam's Auto, across the street from Pattons' is also honest...to the best of my knowledge.

Try Eddie's on 630 in Stafford. It's on the right side at the top of the hill. I've gone to Roses Auto Clinic on Lassen Ln too.

I've been going to Roses longer than I care to admit (age thing you know). I used to go to Nichols on Rt3 when Roses owner was service manager there.

Hometown Garage off Rt. 17 in Stafford, just short of Geico has the best GM and diesel Technician in town. They do Inspections and the owner is as honest as the day is long.

Automotive Classics next to Southern Auto parts here in S. Stafford did some great work for me recently also.

Just like easyrider, I've been using Roses (formerly Nichols) too with no complaints.

You have been going there for a while, too! I also took my cars to Nichols. You are right, that guy stuck with the place after Nichols left. They have always treated my honestly and fairly.
