Trick or Treating
      #1186658 - 10/17/07 02:17 PM (72.209.233.183)

Does Fredericksburg have a certain date/time that they allow trick or treating? Also, where are the best places to go? We just moved here and have no idea when to take our little one out. Thank you in advance.

It all depends on where you live as far as where to go but subdisions are the best. Lots of houses, short walking and often patrolled by police for security. Most time in the area are from 6 pm to 8 or 9 pm.

If you're in the city, anywhere in residential downtown is good. If you're in the county, I'd recommend subdivisions...but I would go where you'd know the area either way.

Last few years, we've not had too many come by after 8 pm.

The 31st

One year we went to Breezewood Townhomes, because the little one was so little, and there's lots of townhouses right next to each other. Last year we took her to Salem Fields, and we had a lot of luck there. You couldn't clear that neighborhood if you tried. It's huge! I like that neighborhood, because the houses are so close together.

Does the city normally operate on the standard Roman calendar? Because I believe Halloween is the 31st every year.

Some places will move the Trick-or-Treating day if Halloween falls on a Sunday to Saturday. Luckily, we aren't one of those places. I think that's why she was asking, though.
