Depends. Do you think she's computer savvy enough to notice?
ETA: Alternatively, you could do what I've done with some family members. I just hide their status updates. That way we're still technically friends, but I don't have to see what's going on in their lives.

If you don't what her to know what is going on in your life, unfriend her, she won't get a notice you did it. If she noticed it and says something you can always say I must have done it by mistake when I as putting people in groups or say oh I did?.

It's called setting boundarys & protecting yourself from whatever you have to do . I would do it if i had to & just be honest about it. I recently had to cut off my sister, sometimes ya just gotta

I started reading this thread, and the first thing I thought was how do I get rid of the d*&m Farmville updates!! I will have to check into selectively choosing not to get updates from 3 people.
I was unfriended once, I suppose because I ignored the incessant flowers and crystals I was receiving. I didn't find out until I had an event, and went to invite her and noticed her name was no longer on my list.. Oh well, it stopped the flowers and crystals...

The next time you see a Farmville, or Yoville or Mafia Wars update, just roll the cursor over it and "hide" will pop up. Click on it, click hide app, and you'll never see it again!
