I think males and females are about equal in the labido department. It's easy to give up that which you don't enjoy and as far as sex goes it depends a lot on the partner as to the degree of enjoyment. For example, if you love oral and your partner doesn't then you'd enjoy sex less with that partner and be more willing to give up sex over something else that gives you pleasure. When you aren't surprized when a woman is willing to forego sex perhaps she just doesn't have interest in her partner, I think the same goes for a man.

I disagree. I think when women have all their eggs then it might be true. Once that whole "gotta have kids, gotta get married, gotta have the house and picket fence" vibe goes away I don't think it's on their radar, except to pacify the men in their lives.

Maybe if the men would recognize that once women have the marriage, kids and picket fence, it's a whole lot more work than one person can handle. Biggest turn on to a married woman? A guy who has vacuumed the house, made dinner and cleaned the kitchen. That's the guy who is getting laid (at least in my house).

You've GOT to be kidding right? Once the kids area grown is the best time in your life! When you have a family to raise you have to make time for it. Once the kids are gone...you have to make time for everything else but sex!

I'm not talking about ways to get a SO acceptable to the idea. I know some guys are OK with the whole fish thing, but I'm talking true desire on each other's part. I have a hard time thinking a woman daydreams about a man behind a vacuum.
When women are younger, mid-20's to early 30's, there's that excitement. Those were the times when both adults could just look at each other and then BAM! However, men still have it and women lose it, which is why I feel it's a hormonal/instinctive thing - men can procreate until they die, and women have a limited amount of eggs.

After 4 children, the only times intimacy was affected was in the first 2 years of my children's life. Plus, relatives and friends with children of like age were always willing to babysit for a night. So finding moments, I felt, were never hard. What was hard was getting a SO to feel the same way. I like to cook, clean, snuggle, etc, but those also don't bring back the spark.
Maybe it's me. Maybe intimacy is all ritual and scripted the older you get. All I know is that women in their late 30's and older tend to be boring and uninterested, just like fat men who sit on the couch and watch football and NASCAR all weekend and expect their women to act like strippers.

I can see where you are coming from....but....
I had a couple of bad apples that cared more about their needs but now I found someone that is truly honest, giving, thoughtful, and chooses to put my feelings and needs out in front! It's a wonderful life!
