Damned shame about the thread.
My participation consisted of giving positive advice on how to proceed, including examples, such as how we threw out the miscreants on the city council and school board in Fredericksburg with the Fredericksburg Taxpayers Association.
Rather than just sit around and bitch, we worked within the system and actually got the changes that were desperately needed.
Since serious allegations of malfeasance were made here, to recount, I made the following suggestions:
1) Make sure you have all the facts
2) Take your case to the state attorney general
3) Form a citizens group to elect responsible public officials
4) Get to be acquainted with the local social structure to get an understanding of the backstory, which can explain how and why inexplicable actions can be understood
..........and for those concerned, there will be news of the state attorney general ruling I referred to, which YesItIsMe claimed does not exist, further illustrating suggestion #1.......

I thought you had a valuable suggestion the first time you posted it. But this is like the sixth or seventh (too bad the thread is missing to get an actual count) time you posted the same point. As a result it has gotten very irritating to me and what credibility you started with has now vanished. Thank you for your input. Now please let some others make theirs.
The closing of your post proves to me that the real reason for making your point *yet again* is to ensure you have the last word, something both you and YesItsMe seem to be obsessed with. That is boorish behavior in person and at the very least bad online etiquette: not cool. Please, both of you, spare the rest of us and take your issues elsewhere.

While I have indeed made several posts, they did not all repeat the same point.
Rather, there were four points, which I thoughtfully numbered and illustrated.
The first posts did not contain them all, nor did all of those posts contain the same examples. No, what I did was begin with a couple of points and then develop them to give this thread something substantive and positive to help the situation be resolved as it should. Fortunately, Mr. Me showed up to help illustrate what I’ve been saying.
What I have posted on this issue is quite mild by FT standards, so, to preserve your sanity, try not to be so easily annoyed.

Please try to pay closer attention.
When confronted with malfeasance in office, one should go to the AG and get an investigation.
There are times when different rules and procedures apply in a situaton, rules and procedures that may not be well-known and the state attorney general is a good place to get information, if not a ruling or an investigation.
Likewise, citizen groups can go to the AG and other offices to get valuable information to help them proceed.
I used the ruling obtained by Caroline County as an example, and somehow you managed to overlook Yesman's responses.
I gave other examples of the other points I made.
Try to get beyond the name-calling and see if you can follow my lead and post positive, helpful suggestions that would lead to a school board and BOS that is more responsive to the needs of citizens.
Do you have anything positive to add to the discussion?
Or would you prefer to abandon a substantive issue and make this a thread where we all call each other names?

I found out, weeks before it was announced, through connections in the community, about the recent finding for Caroline County before it was published, which was suggestion #4, I believe.
It stated just what I have been saying all along, that Caroline County did not have to do anything for the gadfly.
Again, this brings us back to suggestion #1, which is get all the facts, especially if one is a blowhard who denies the existence of things said blowhard doesn't know about....
Developing relationships with retirees who know this kind of stuff can be a valuable source for information...

What BA Jerk is saying is he has heard a rumor that Caroline County wrote to the AG to overturn the decision to open up the Parks and Rec softball league to all county residents (instead of just the Christians). I have talked to the appropriate people and found that the county government did not even ask for such a ruling.
Again, BA Jerk has lied and refuses to back it up. 
My apologies for being one of the people who ran him out of Caroline County, so that he has to come to your county and try to start arguements as he did with his " cough "

Funny, I searched the website for opinions affecting both caroline county and softball, and found nothing for this year or last year.
If the attorney general actually issued a ruling anytime in the last 5 years saying that it's okay for a county to require membership in a religious institution to participate in a county-sponsored sports league, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see it.
For those who don't want to watch the soap opera called the Caroline Forum, here is the cliff notes version of the story.
Yesitisme is Jewish. He wanted to form a softball team with his neighbors. When he called Caroline P&R, he was informed that unless he belonged to a church, he could not form a team. He brought this to the attention of the Caroline County BOS. They agreed this policy was wrong. Originally they said they would fix things for next year. Yes pointed out that that was a little unreasonable, and the BOS agreed and everything was worked out a few weeks later. Yes formed a team, and at least one other resident formed a team from their neighborhood. The teams from the local churches also came back, and from all accounts, ball was played, and the season was successful. A fine example of a local government correcting a wrong.
From the published reports I have read of this incident, all was resolved in one BOS meeting, so I really doubt that an opinion was sought of the AG, unless for some reason he attended the BOS meeting in person and the FLS didn't publish that fact.
Yes' story really illustrates how a well-informed person can effect a positive change. I have never met him in person, but I admire him for being willing to stand up for his beliefs - we all need to do more of that to hold our elected officials at all levels of government accountable.

That is the only thing you will find too. The situation was handled at a county level, with the BOS, and the AG had nothing to do with it. You can contact the Attorney General at:

Interesting. Well, unless the attorney general's office is keeping this under wraps from his staff, they told me no one has contacted their office about the situation. They knew nothing about it.

This actually does illustrate some valuable advice on the original topic. Try to seperate the rumors from the facts. Many people hear a rumor from a "reliable source" and then take it as fact. A little common sense goes a long way.
